MFINDA co-creator Christiano Terry revealed his desire to explore Brazilian stories and myths in future projects from the production company.

The animated film MFINDA has been attracting attention around the world for combining the strength of African culture with the aesthetics and sensitivity of Japanese animation. Produced by Viola Davis and Julius Tennon , the film is directed by Gisaburō Sugii ( Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie ) and co-directed by Arthell Isom .

But in an exclusive interview with Otaku Saver , the N LITE revealed something that might excite Brazilian fans: their interest in creating an anime inspired by Brazilian folklore .

During the conversation, we mentioned to the Mfinda the famous Saci-pererê , a mischievous spirit from the Brazilian forests — which sparked the interest of Christiano Terry , co-creator, producer, and screenwriter of MFINDA .

"I LOVE Brazil and have been drawn to the country and culture for a long time. I have some familial connections to Brazil and we plan on exploring what a Brazilian story could look like for N LITE."

"I love Brazil and its culture. We have family ties and, who knows, maybe one day we can explore a Brazilian story within N LITE."

Terry also demonstrated curiosity about Brazilian legends and stories , especially the Saci-pererê , one of the best-known figures in our folklore.
According to him, the cultural diversity and spiritual aspect of Brazil could fit perfectly into the narrative language that N LITE has been developing, marked by messages of unity, ancestry, and healing.

Furthermore, creator Patience Lekien highlighted the historical connection between Brazil and Africa , mentioning the cultural and spiritual links between the peoples of Congo, Angola, and Brazilian territory—which further reinforces the idea of a production that unites these universes.

Stories like those of Saci-pererê , Curupira , or Iara have the potential to come to life from a new perspective—blending tradition, ancestry, and the art of Japanese animation.

If this project comes to fruition, the result promises to be a unique celebration of the cultural diversity that connects Brazil , Africa , and Japan .
