Since the final episode of the Tournament of Power aired in March 2018, Dragon Ball Super have been eagerly awaiting news about the anime. Although the manga continued its story with new arcs, the animated series remained silent—until now. All indications suggest that the return of Dragon Ball Super may be closer than ever.

According to information from the ScreenRant , the anime may be officially announced during the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 , an event taking place on April 19th and 20th in Los Angeles.
The conference, dedicated to the franchise's games, has already served as a stage for important announcements, such as that of Dragon Ball Daima . And the event's official page promises to share "the latest information on the Dragon Ball franchise, which continues to evolve in manga, anime, films, games and products".
Expectations grew even higher after statements from executive producer Akio Iyoku , who stated that the Toei team "continues to work hard to keep the series going" and assured that Dragon Ball "will move forward." For many fans, this was an indirect confirmation that Super might return.
Since 2018, the franchise has focused on other avenues — with films like Dragon Ball Super: Broly (2018), Super Hero (2022), and the recent Dragon Ball Daima , released in 2024. However, with the conclusion of these productions and the manga on hiatus, the time seems ideal for a new chapter in the saga.
Although there is still no official confirmation from Toei Animation, the outlook is promising. 2026 also marks the 30th anniversary of Dragon Ball GT , and speculation suggests that the studio may use the date to celebrate the franchise's legacy and announce new projects.
